Manager Tax
We are looking to hire someone to work in our Columbus, Ohio office with a hybrid schedule (2 days/week in office, moving to 3 days/week in September)
Job Summary
Manager Tax is responsible for reviewing and maintaining work papers supporting ASC 740 income tax accounting calculations, and non-income tax journal entries, compliance filings, and payments. This responsibility reviews monthly income tax and non-income tax accounting entries, forecasting annual and 5-year financial plans. The Manager is a self-motivated team player with GAAP and tax technical experience, organizational skills, effective & efficient communication, good project management, a history of producing high-quality timely work product, flexibility, and intellectual curiosity. The Manager strives for continuous improvement in process, deliverables, leadership and professional expertise.
Essential Functions
Oversees and reviews income tax provision computations and journal entries, and non-income tax computations and journal entries
Prepares and reviews tax forecasts including developing income and non-income tax assumptions and variance analysis
Ensures accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state and local income tax returns, non-income tax returns and other business-related filings
Provides oversight of tax-related regulatory reporting requirements and provides tax assistance with regulatory initiatives including utility rate case support
Develops cross-functional relationships with accounting, regulatory, financial planning and operations personnel.
Identifies & analyzes issues
Stays current on tax matters
Coordinates within and outside the tax department
Required Qualifications For Position
Bachelor's Degree In Accounting or equivalent
At least 5 years of public accounting and/or corporate tax experience at a publicly traded company, preferably with income tax provision and federal, state and local compliance experience.
Demonstrated working GAAP accounting and knowledge of ASC 740 income tax accounting and ASC 450 is required.
Strong analytical, tax technical and research skills required
Results-driven, collaborative, and detail-oriented
Ownership of responsibility and accountability in providing accurate and timely deliverables
Ability to adapt communication styles to effectively interface with Senior Leadership, but also to successfully teach and train staff and business partners
Collaborative problem-solving approach with the ability to build consensus for recommended solutions
Proficiency with MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) Medium
Exposure to other technology tools Alteryx, Tableau, or similar preferred
Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple assignments
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
Experience with automated tax systems such as CorpTax (provision, compliance) including tax depreciation software and ERP (Oracle or SAP) systems
Utility industry experience
MST Upon Hire
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Upon Hire
Work Authorization
Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

Salary Range*:
$129,500.00 - $194,300.00*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidates skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience , as well as internal pay equity .
