Weyerhaeuser’s Portfolio Management team is looking for a Senior Director Acquisitions & Divestitures to lead a passionate team responsible for sourcing and leading large-scale transactions within our Timberlands, Corporate Development, and Wood Products businesses. In this impactful leadership role, you will lead a best-in-class team with expertise in finance, accounting, legal, forestry, natural climate solutions and real estate, and you’ll leverage a best-in-class technology platform to shape, scale and execute on Weyerhaeuser’s growth strategy.
As we look to maximize the return on invested capital from the company’s timberlands portfolio, success will require strong leadership and team-building skills, including the ability to manage high-performing individuals, lead cross-functional teams throughout the organization, and the ability to think creatively as we assess alternative revenue streams associated with the environmental benefits of sustainable forest management. You will need to effectively balance long-range strategy development and daily execution of business results in a fast-paced environment with high-impact priorities — all while supporting our long-term sustainability goals and strategy to ensure we can continue to thrive and make a positive impact for the next century and beyond.
As part of our Corporate Development organization, this position reports to the Vice President, Acquisitions, Divestitures and Real Estate. This role is based out of our Seattle, WA headquarters on a hybrid schedule in office Tuesday-Thursday and the ability to work remote Monday and Friday.
Key Functions:
- Transaction Leadership: Direct and provide leadership to broad project team members in all phases of transaction sourcing, due diligence, contract negotiations, senior leader approvals and managing closing process
- Portfolio Optimization: Evaluate the company’s 11-million-acre timberland portfolio to identify holdings within strategic growth markets as well as non-strategic markets with below-average risk adjusted returns
- Strategy Execution: Communicate the company’s investment thesis, lead deal sourcing strategy, develop creative investment structures, and lead the execution of the company’s acquisition and divestiture program to strategically optimize and upgrade the portfolio
- Internal Relationships: Cultivate strong internal relationships to support the formation of highly effective cross functional teams with the ability to influence internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with company strategy
- External Networks: Develop and maintain key contacts and relationships within the timberland investment community including timberland owners, investment bankers, and service providers
- Valuation Support: Maintain a deep understanding of timberland markets and industry trends to build an investment position on timberland valuation for company lands and acquisition opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Forestry, Finance, Business. MBA or graduate degree preferred
- A minimum of 10 years professional experience in timberland investment and large transaction management
- 5+ years of direct/indirect people leadership, investment analysis, management, legal and/or real estate transactions to draw upon his/her experience to thoroughly evaluate timberland investment opportunities
- Results oriented, highly organized, attention to detail, and able to efficiently manage several diverse projects simultaneously to meet competing deadlines

- Willing to travel overnight approximately 20% of the time.
What We Offer:
Compensation : This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $191,900-$291,800 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 35% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement : Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation : We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
